Thomasville, NC: Coming off of a weekend of consistent podium finished; it was back at
it again for the Mark Burch Motorsports, Chad Humston Racing team.
Last weekend would take the #1M to Iowa for the Saturday night 360
event at the famed Knoxville Raceway, in Knoxville , Iowa . Chad was
placed in the second group for qualifying and started the night out with
the third quickest time. Although the #1M came in with the third
quickest time overall, it seems that team discovered that they may be
suffering some engine problems.
Chad started his heat third row outside in the sixth position and
managed to grab the fourth place position with a great start. “The
outside row had a great start and I was able to grab onto fourth and
hang on to it, which was is the most important part.” Chad had to say of
his heat. The #1M finished the heat in the fourth and final transfer
position to the main.
The Engler Machine and Tool #1M started the A-Main, third row inside
in the fifth position. “The track was narrow and tough to pass on, but
it was the same track for everyone.” Chad said. Although there wasn’t a
ton of passing for the night, Chad managed to finish the evening with a
fourth place. “It wasn’t another podium finish or the win we had hoped
for but it is another steady finish and that’s our goal.” Said Chad of
his night.
